Natural light or studio light?
The studio is blessed to have a perfect setup for natural light photography (as well as a very lovely view of the city). However, I also use studio strobes. For shoots beginning at 3:00pm or earlier, a combination of natural and studio light can be used. I love the look of both types of light. For theatrical actor headshots I prefer the look of natural light because it has a very gentle, soft touch. For branded profile photos I love the consistency and light "carvability" of studio strobes. I aim for a look that makes you look like you're featured on the cover of a magazine.
Do I get all of my photos?
Yes, I provide all of your images in high-resolution within 5 days of the shoot (usually a lot faster than that). Although it is common practice to only offer low-resolution proofs and charge per image, I prefer to send you everything so you can show off all of your different poses to family and friends (even those that didn't quite make the cut for LinkedIn). It takes more time then you would think to curate all of the photos for the online gallery (get rid of the bad ones, apply adjustments to color and contrast, etc.), so it is not at all unreasonable for photographers to charge on a per-image basis. This is one feature which makes a shoot with Classy Headshots a truly incredible value.
What camera do you use?
Currently shooting with a Hasselblad X1D II medium format mirrorless camera. While some may say this is overkill for headshot photography, I love the colors, texture and skin tone that we can get straight out of camera with this tool. You're going to love how you look. For video (slate shots, Linkedin intros, etc.) I use a Canon C300 mkii Netflix approved cinema camera along with industry standard Sennheiser microphones.
